We source our abalone shells from South Africa, New Zealand and Japan where they are a by-product from the food industry. They’re not caught in the wild so not only are these shells stunningly beautiful, but the process of harvesting them doesn't harm any natural habitats or wild abalones.

iPhone 13 Pro Max — Shell Explorer Black Case

naturally stylish

I love my iPhone case made of natural abalone shell. It is understated and stylish and the sides of the case are flexible and sensitive enough to make adjusting volume or double clicking to activate Apple Pay easy. My preference would be for the black plastic/silicone or rubber around the sides of the case to be less obtrusive. My case did not arrive in the post after a month and it took four attempts to contact customer service for the matter to be resolved. Cover-up then express couriered a replacement case to me, which I was grateful for.

Thank you for sticking with us through that — four attempts to reach us is three too many. There's a real human in Wales reading every message now, so it won't happen again. Really glad the replacement arrived safely — and thank you for the note about the case edges; it's gone straight to the workbench.

Beautiful and well made

I was hesitant to buy a shell cover after having tried one from another company, which started to crack and break within the first week. However, after a chat with Cover-Up customer service where the representative told of his own shell cover having lasted several months without breaking, I decided to give it another shot, . I'm so glad I did! The cover is beautiful, the explorer case sits snug on the phone and provides good grip. I've used the case for roughly 6 months and only very recently got a crack in it (I'm not particularly gentle towards my phone!). When my current case gets more worn out, I will definitely consider buying a replacement, as the pearl is so beautiful.
