    Yes. The wood is FSC-certified, laser-cut and hand-sanded with a natural oil-and-wax finish; the stone is real slate, split thin. Nothing is printed — the pattern is the material, which is why no two skins are the same.

    A skin guards the back against scratches and scuffs and adds a little grip. It isn’t a drop case, so it won’t cushion a fall — if your iPad travels, add a felt sleeve.
